AVL TIMES had the exclusive opportunity to an interview with NovaStar, a global leading LED display solution provider, designs and develops LED display control solutions for a variety of market applications including entertainment, digital signage, and rental.
With 37 branches serving corporate and retail clients worldwide, NovaStar has been continuously strengthening its innovation, manufacturing, and support capability. Their product line ranges from LED display synchronous control systems, LED display point‐to‐point calibration systems to cloud‐based management services.
They have proudly served both corporate and retail clients ranging from the Beijing 2008 Olympic opening ceremony, concerts to digital advertising signage. NovaStar supports enables its worldwide clients to optimize productivity and business performance. NovaStar commits to pioneer innovative technology in LED display control and has been offering products with exclusive proprietary intellectual property rights identified as the industry standards. Their goal is to continue to create value for clients with pioneer technology, tailored solutions, user‐friendly products, and professional support.
We sat down with Terry, the Senior Account Manager in NovaStar whose current responsibilities including promoting new solutions and bringing cutting‐edge technology by offering training to clients, establish sales channel and cooperating with local distributors in the South Asian Market. Terry was kind enough to share valuable insights of the company, and especially what’s next for NovaStar.
How much did the 2020‐2021 pandemic crisis affect the business, and what new insights have you learned about the industry from those 2 years.
One word “focus”, we should focus on our clients and focus on our main industry, with that foundation we can enlarge our business scale.
We also stepped into the fine‐pitch LED markets.
Which markets are currently of most interest to you: rental, commercial install, worship, education, broadcast, studio, etc.
At the moment, we are basically interested in the rental, education, broadcast and studio sectors of the market.
What is different about how the video market is today when compared to 5‐years ago?
The pandemic totally changed our way for working and entertainment, we now prefer to do everything online and live streaming media is much more popular than ever before. We have faith in making a positive difference in the industry and we believe the future development of the video market in Asia.
How many video solution categories does the company/brand currently manufacture?
We do comprehensive video solutions including processors, scalers, switchers and media server.
What is the latest technology advancement that NovaStar is introducing in their product range currently sold in the market?
We are proud to introduce our newest solution based on MX40 Pro and VMP software. VMP is an all‐new display control software that integrates design, management, and monitoring into one single platform. When paired with the flagship MX Series controller and A10s Pro receiving card, an incredibly professional LED solution is realized, providing stunning image quality, precise color adjustment, and an intuitive software experience. This represents a totally new solution for managing high‐end applications such as fine‐pitch LED installation, studio broadcasting touring, corporate events, virtual production and E‐sports.
Which recently completed or currently ongoing projects using your products are you most proud of?
It should be Beijing Winter Olympic Games held early this year. NovaStar supports nearly 15,000 m2 8K floor screen and a 60m high "Icefall" screen Giant "Snowflake" main torch (cauldron) screen equipped with
AI, Naked‐Eye 3D, 5G and 8K technologies.
NovaStar successfully created the world's largest, the most complex control system, and most reliable LED display feast. Meanwhile, the single‐port‐8K control technology has helped the opening ceremony become the first large‐scale application of 8K technology in the world.
Live broadcast of the opening ceremony, coverage of the main competitions, and provided 8K control technology support for more than twenty 8K LED display giant screens in China. People can feel the ultra‐HD visual experience brought by the 8K live broadcast even if they're not on site.
And finally, what are NovaStar's dream to achieve in 2025.
In our industry when different brands of products involved will inevitable cause latency and compatible issues, which is always a pain for our clients, while NovaStar will offer our clients one‐stop solution to improve this situation and a better display, better viewing experience.
