The big theme at the heart of the World Expo 2025 Osaka is designed for the future, and with 28 million visitors expected, the USA Pavilion needed to dial up design to the max in order to stand out in a genuine world‐class field. Charged with turning its ambition into real life was technical partner BeWunder, global giants in jaw‐ dropping event production and knockout spatial experiences.
From the outset, INFiLED and BeWunder worked together in close collaboration, blending our expertise and experience to deliver flawless, high
‐impact LED visuals with our LED technologies that would set the USA Pavilion apart.
About BeWunder
BeWunder is a turnkey solution partner delivering projects across museums and cultural spaces, performing arts venues, sports and entertainment venues, World Expo pavilions, experience centers, corporate spaces, ceremonies, conferences, exhibitions, and luxury events. Its services cover the full project lifecycle — from concept design and engineering to fit‐out, technology, digital media, and lifecycle operations.
Operating with a “partner mindset” — closely aligned with our approach at INFiLED — BeWunder has become a world‐renowned expert in bridging the gap between vision and reality, creating multisensory visitor experiences.

The Vision: A Realm of Boundless Possibilities
The core concept for the USA Pavilion invited visitors to celebrate “America’s Excellence” which meant everything, and we mean everything, had to radiate excellence, from the Pavilion content to how that content was delivered. The USA Pavilion’s official mascot was Spark, a fully‐animated character that symbolized the spark of imagination, set within a playful sense of boundless possibilities. The animation guided visitors through a landscape of “imagination realms” that showcased the best of the US.
The vision was bold ‐ so the design matched the vision. The Pavilion’s 31,000 sq. ft exterior was formed by two triangular buildings, intersected by a suspended cube.
BeWunder envisioned two large LED screens displaying iconic American landmarks, reinforcing the theme.
Inside, a sequence of immersive exhibition spaces would continue the narrative.
The Challenge: Big Visuals, Big Weather. High Up.
The LED integration came with four chunky challenges:
• Integrating two large‐scale outdoor LED screens into the pavilion’s exterior with precision execution: no gaps, no seams ‐ just a structurally integrated, straight‐line build, and all at a 6 meter elevation.
• Ensuring the materials and build could perform whatever the weather ‐ and Osaka is known for all the weather: a rainy season, high humidity, extreme heat, direct sunlight and strong winds.
• Build constraints: A hard timeline with zero tolerance for delay.
• Reliability: When design excellence is the main theme, any glitch would be a double embarrassment.
The Solution: Reliable LED Screens, but with Pizzazz
The BeWunder/INFiLED team chose ORMV5.9‐Lite LED panels from INFILED’s outdoor LED MV Series which had been developed specifically for the highest quality outdoor performance.
The fun included:
• An aluminium build that’s lightweight & flexible, but more stable and durable than the conventional magnesium.
• A rapid 3.840 Hz refresh rate, a high brightness of 5000 nits and good contrast, to cope with fluctuating outdoor light conditions.
• IP65 rating, for reliable weatherproofing.
The LED walls were installed at a height of 6m on the Pavilion’s façade in two runs, each measuring 26m by 6.5m, covering a total area of 338 square meters.
Rather than using standard panel sizes across the board, the team designed for optimal image quality and a no‐gap run by developing a bespoke alignment of 1000m x 1000m panels, finishing off with 1000m x 500m panels for the top sections. The chosen pixel pitch of
5.9mm for perfect medium‐to‐long‐ distance viewing.
Next, the LED screens are installed with a Pixera media server,
enabling playback of a continuous video loop showcasing iconic US visuals, as well as the capability to switch to live or scheduled content, such as NASA launches and MLB games.
The Result: Buzz Created. Job Done.
The LED walls became a visual anchor of the Pavilion’s architecture and an exciting welcome for visitors.
The build proved super robust during commissioning and testing, and needed very little calibration post‐installation, which we think is a testament to the high standards and commitment to excellence that BeWunder and INFiLED share.
We are always in awe of BeWunder’s ability to handle high‐stakes international AV integrations at scale, and were exceptionally proud to work with them to deliver their client’s ambitions.
“The feedback has been overwhelmingly positive. The LED screens fully met the design vision in terms of both aesthetics and functionality.” Kiril Petrovski, Project Manager, BeWunder.
