Hi Terry, first, we like to express our thanks for taking the time to have this interview with AVL TIMES. To begin please tell our readers about your role and responsibility in NovaStar.
I have been working with NovaStar for around seven years. Currently, I am leading the team that looks after our customers in the South Asia area.
What aspects of the Asia‐Pacific market sectors make video technology an exciting industry to be involved in?
Well, Asia‐Pacific market contains a mass population so we find it exciting to have a lot of events and music festivals which requires cutting‐edge video technology to be involved, and we would love to see this grow.
How much growth for your industry do you see in the next 2 years for South Asia. (1) Do you see sales growth in South Asia for 2023 the same as 2022, or will be stronger by 15%, 25%, etc. (2) Do you see sales growth in South Asia for 2023 the same as 2022, or will be stronger by 15%, 25%, etc.
I see there will be around 25‐30% growth annually, 2023 is a big growth for us.
Which industry sectors within South Asia makes NovaStar product technologies a growing industry to be involved in?
Mainly for the rental and commercial install segments.
Are there differences (type of applications, quantity of products, scale of projects) between South Asia customers for video solutions?
Clients of South Asia care more about products with lesser costs, that’s mainly because competition is fierce around all players, and as expected, revenue is going to be affected lower than before.
What are the newest market trends/applications using video technology that have emerged over the last 2 years?
I would say it is the use of fiber optic technology, which makes long distance transmission more convenient. The other trend is Mini/Micro‐led and COB technology on led wall products.
What is the latest technology advancement that NovaStar is introducing in their product range currently sold in the market?
Our latest technology is Visual Management Platform, in short we call it “VMP” soware, which greatly improved efficiency onsite when configuring led screen, “what you see is what you get”.
Which recently completed or currently ongoing projects since January 2023 that NovaStar is most proud of that are using its products?
There are several, for example the ASEAN Summit in Indonesia, with NovaStar 12* MCTRL 4K; The resolution of each MCTRL 4K is 4800*1200, and the total loading capacity resolution of 12*4K is 57600*1200. And the 19th Asian Games held in Hangzhou this year as well. NovaStar H series with end‐to-end minimalist full link support, light up the opening ceremony of 10,000 square meters of over 300 million pixel 24K ground giant screen, including a large IMAX stereoscopic screen, digital human point torch background screen, and help to present a super clear, smooth, stable, excellent picture expression.
Please tell us what you personally find exciting and/or challenging about being involvedas a key participant in the growth of video technology for newer and future applications.
I find it pretty challenging because video technology keeps updating and I also have to learn all the time in order to keep up with it. Now video technology is more connected with audio technology so it won’t be long that we can see video and audio will work under same platform from both hardware and software aspect.
