Yamaha And Nexo Have All The Solutions At ISE 2018
Yamaha Commercial Audio has launched a number of significant new products at the recent ISE 2018 show in Amsterdam. This year Yamaha also co-exhibited with NEXO, together forming a truly full-scope industry supplier. Among many highlights, the new RIVAGE PM7 digital mixing system quickly attracted a lot of attention (see Editor’s Choice section). The launch of the new system coincides with that of the latest Version 2 firmware for RIVAGE PM10. ISE was also the launchpad for updated R series Dante I/O racks for all current Yamaha digital mixing consoles. Also on show were the VXL1 series of column-type line arrays, including the new SWR2100 series L2 Power over Ethernet switches, which drive Yamaha’s high quality PGM1 programmable paging station and MCP1 control panel with almost infinitely customisable ProVisionaire Touch V2.0 and ProVisionaire Touch KIOSK V2.0 iPad apps. These apps enable the simple control of both installed and live audio systems from a single app and are complemented by the new ProVisionaire Control and ProVisionaire KIOSK (Windows and Windows tablet) apps. Live audio also benefits from the new, compact DXSmkII subwoofers and standalone, Bluetooth equipped STAGEPAS BT all-in-one sound reinforcement systems. The Yamaha Rivage PM10 system was first introduced to the National Theater of Korea in 2017 and made its debut on October 25th for the premiere of an elaborate production of Changgeuk, the traditional Korean opera, “Wildfire”. The following is an interview with the theater’s sound engineers as well as an introduction and some background information on the PM10 and its many applications.
