India: Producer, composer and officially the most popular DJ in the world, David Guetta, gave a live performance in front of thousands of his fans on the sands at Baga Ground, Goa, on 8th December 2012. Guetta was voted as the #1 DJ in the ‘DJ Mag Top 100 DJs’ fan poll and his fourth studio album ‘One Love’ was nominated as “Best Electronic/Dance Album” at the 52nd Grammy Awards.
Sound & Light Professionals (SNL Pro) undertook the technical production needs for the event including designing the main PA system. Manish Mavani, Director of SNL Pro knew the obvious choice for the night’s high decibel performance would easily be handled by their D.A.S. Audio Aero 50 large format line array systems. The speakers were flown in 12 per side array hangs at the FOH towers beside the stage.
As bass support to the Aero 50 tops were double groundstacks comprised of 32 units of D.A.S. Audio Aero 218 subs positioned in front of the stage. All the speakers were powered by a total of 32 units of Lab.gruppen PLM10000Q amplifiers. Aero 50 cabinets were also the choice for the two delay towers with each delay cluster having 6 per side hangs and powered by 8 units of Lab.gruppen PLM10000Q amplifiers.
Opening for Guetta were DJ Shaan and DJ Clement. Gear for the Opening DJs were: 10 Pioneer CDJ-2000, 2 DJM-900, and 2 RMX-1000 Remix Stations. For the high-power DJ Monitor systems were 6 L-Acoustics V-DOSC, 2 L-Acoustics SB28, 6 Aero 12A, and 2 Aero 218. The speakers were driven by 8 Lab.gruppen PLM 10000Q amplifiers.
FOH Engineer on the Digidesign VENUE Profile console was Kamesh Patel while Monitor Engineer was Cijith OS (both from SNL Pro). Rigging Crew was made up of Muthu Krishnan, Baiju, and Feroz Khan.
