Redefining Live Entertainment

AVL TIMES – November 2011 – Issue 05

Malaysia: Master Lights and Sound Singapore (MLSS) a Singapore based distributor of Audio and Lighting equipments was contracted to transform the latest kid on the block, Club Neverland located right at the heart of Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. As part of the club’s vision to redefine live entertainment, it’s design has incorporated a 3D Projection Mapping into its daily stable of shows as well as to provide an immersive visual environment throughout the night. To actualise this concept, MLSS has recruited AIMS Integrated Marketing Agency, a Singapore based Multimedia Production and Rental Staging company with extensive experiences working with LSC Media Controller and ArKaos Media Server for Large Format Projection, Video Projection and Interactive Mapping projects to integrate the system and deliver the video and visual content for the club. The Multimedia integration team led by Kevin Ng from MLSS chose to work with the proven control system comprising of the LSC Clarity VX20 Media Control System and ArKaos A10 Media Server for this project. The control system was linked together on ArtNet while the extreme high bandwidth signal was transmitted via a Kramer Electronics Flat HDMI Cable to the InFocus IN5535L WUXGA Large Venue DLP Projector. The InFocus projector was preferred for this installation based on several factors and one of the key being the dual lamps and filter free features. This features allow the club to have a 24/7 operation with a fail safe backup. While the Multimedia designers and animators was putting the finishing touches to the content, Ray Rahman, Multimedia Specialist from AIMS completed the installation by integrating the Control System, system calibration and programming. All contents can be accessed via the cue on the media controller which resided on the media server. Ray highlighted that the MediaMaster Pro is a breeze to work with and it’s geometric correction feature has come in handy for this installation which has enabled him to project video on non-planar surfaces. With this installation and commissioning in October 2011, Club Neverland has joined the ranks of the select few South East Asian clubs that has embrace video and visuals as their main theme thus giving it a dynamic ambience. Gary Sze from AIMS shared that he felt privileged for the opportunity afforded by MLSS to be involved in this installation project. He opined that the company can only get better by embracing change, exposure to the ever changing landscape and through consistent application as it strive to meet the growing demand for multimedia for live events. The LSC and the ArKaos products are supplied by Singapore- based distributor, Lighting and Sound Distribution while the InFocus projector is supplied by SIS Technologies respectively.
