Singapore: Now in its second year, the Edinger Maifest – a traditional German Spring Celebration – was again celebrated back at Clarke Quay Central Fountain Square on 10 and 11 May. Maifest is widely celebrated by German communities around the world as a practice to welcome the arrival of Spring. As its name suggests, the annual festival is held in the month of May and the festivities include partaking is beer, sumptuous food, and music.
Taking prominence at this year’s festival was the live performances by German Superband, Ois Easy which comprises seven musicians from Bavaria. Their repertoire of music from five decades includes rock, pop, and disco hits and greatly added a Bavarian atmosphere to the party experience. Handling all the technical production needs for the event was MediaPix Group which chose to utilise a full-HARMAN system for the stage’s sound reinforcement.
Configuration of the system features two FOH hangs on the front truss of six per-side JBL VT4886 line array elements. These are supported with six ground-stacked units of JBL VT4883 12″ Cardioid-arrayable Subs and two additional JBL VT4886 resting on the sub stacks as the Front fill. Powering the loudspeakers are five Crown 4x3500HD and I-Tech 12000HD amplifiers. The stage monitors were subsequently driven using Crown XTi6002 amplifiers. Completing the set-up are two sleek Soundcraft Vi6 digital consoles – one on FOH and the second for the monitor mix.
Utilizing the built-in signal distribution and on-board DSP resources of the VRack 12000HD’s, Frankie Yee from MediaPix Group was able to drive the entire system using the new V5 Presets tunings, thus maximizing the performance and linearity of the VERTEC loudspeakers. Comprehensive support for use of VERTEC VT4886 Subcompact Series enclosures with Crown Audio IT4x3500HD 4-channel DSP power amplifiers is included in the V5 preset release.
