Singapore: On 2 December 2011, Audio-Technica (South East Asia) celebrated the 50th anniversary with a dinner at Capella Sentosa, Singapore. 220 specially invited guests that comprised of local, regional customers, and the media attended the grand night which was also the 4th leg of a chain of Audio-Technica’s global celebrations to commemorate this milestone. Mr. Kazuo Matsushita, President of Audio-Technica Corporation, specially flew in to grace the event in Singapore. In his welcome speech, Mr. Matsushita presented a brief history of our past 50 years and how Audio-Technica rode the wave of changes in the volatile audio landscape to become the established company it is today. One of the main highlights of the event was the fashion showcase of the Audio-Technica’s 2011 new products and more significantly, the 50th anniversary products that were launched. Managing Director of Audio-Technica (S.E.A.) Pte Ltd, Mr. Vincent Chan, extended his heartfelt gratitude to the supportive partners in this region. He cited how Audio- Technica was able to transcend almost seamlessly from meeting the demands of analog vinyl records to digital Walkman audio players, and emphasized the importance of maintaining a great business relationship by working closely with the market to power the brand towards the next milestone. Mr. Chan said, “I am confident that if we approach these obstacles and opportunities together with the same spirit and same drive we hold today, Audio-Technica will continue to venture purposely forward.” He left everyone with a quote of Henry Ford, founder of Ford Motors, “If everyone is moving forward together, then success will take care of itself.” Visit Audio-Technica (S.E.A.): Malaysia: The Vienna Boys Choir performed in the Plenary Hall of the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre in November, miked with DPA 2011C mics provided by Orange Events Sdn Bhd, a KL-based rental company. Blurr Wong, Managing Director of Orange Events, Blurr chose two matched-pairs of DPA 2011C twin diaphragm compact cardioids from DPA’s new Reference Standard series to mic the 30-piece choir. He also used a sensitivity-selected pair of DPA 4099P instrument clip mics for miking the grand piano, with one mic positioned at each end of the strings and the lid half open. Blurr is also full of praise for DPA’s Singapore distributor, UniAudio Asia Pte Ltd, and working with DPA’s authorized dealer in Malaysia, AV United Sdn Bhd.
